BACKGROUND
Beatsclassics is an initiative by saxophone player and producer Carlo Banning. His extensive stage experience; in bands, in festivals and events, in the theatre and in the club scene; combined with a conservatoire diploma, results in this versatile project.
Beatsclassics works with 3 different singers. Zosja Pala, known from the first version of Idols where she reached the final. She graduated in 2008 from the Conservatory of Amsterdam with a 10. Her first single 'I'm sorry' became the title track of the movie 'Phileine zegt sorry'. Erica Groeneveld, singer of all CA commercials, prominent member of shows like 'Barcelona' from Wentink Events and Jozien Van dorst, backing vocalist with numerous artists like Do and Gordon.
Other bandmembers are our versatile DJ/Keys Wolfgang Maiwald alias 'Dr. M' and Percussionist/MC Sherwin Kirindongo (Lion King, Dirty Dancing etc.) Since the arrival of the music video, the mix of visuals and music is ever present in the modern party scene. Beatsclassics is the first act that knows how to combine all these elements with live musicians. A new, refreshing impulse for the highly experienced audience of today.

This coverband is not a regular coverband. No old disco anymore, for this coverband only the best hits from 90's till now. The only coverband or who keeps his image up to date.
Beatsclassics is more than a coverband. The name 'coverband' refers actionally quite a lot to an old fashioned, outdated repertoire which is still played a lot by the most coverbands. Disco inferno, Relight my fire, great music, but after the 70's there's made so much other great music. The avarage coverband can't play this modern repertoire very wel by a lack of technology, electronci equipment. Beatsclassics is a coverband in that sense that it doesn't play songs of his own, but it's more than that. The exact copying of covers (that's what the most coverbands do) isn't the approach of beatsclassics. We only make use of the grooviest samples and tracks and only use this as a base to execute this covers on our own (often remixed) way. Coverband?
